It comprises 3 units: Unit 1 Management of Health & Safety, Unit 2 Controlling Workplace Hazards and Unit 3 Practical assessment Unit 1 Management of Health & Safety - Health & safety foundations - Policy - Organising for health & safety - Promoting a positive health & safety culture - Risk assessment - Principles of control - Monitoring review and audit - Incident and accident investigation, recording and reporting Unit 2 Controlling Workplace Hazards - Movement of people and vehicles: hazards and control - Manual and mechanical handling hazards and control - Work equipment hazards and control - Electrical hazards and control - Fire hazards and control - Chemical and biological health hazards and control - Physical and psychological health hazards and control - Construction activities: hazards and control For Units 1 & 2 there are 2 two hour written exams that take place after the last day of the course Unit 3 Health & Safety Practical Application This is a supervised practical assessment carried out by the candidate at the own workplace. It needs to be completed ands submitted to VCES within 12 days of Units 1 & 2 exams’ date. VCES head of course provider is authorised by NEBOSH to mark the Unit 3 and send only marks to NEBOSH for incorporating in the final result. Certification: Candidates are assessed with written examinations for each of the two taught units. A unit certificate is issued denoting successful achievement of each unit by NEBOSH. A Certificate award parchment is issued on completion of the two units and the practical assessment by NEBOSH with grading. Successful completion of the Certificate with 5 years health & safety experience leads to Technician status of IOSH (TechIOSH) accompanied by CPD and also Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (AIIRSM) dependent on the relevant experience. Cost of the course:For Indian- Rupees 55,000/- and for middle-east Omani Riyal 650 Costs are inclusive of NEBOSH IGC course study RMS book, all course notes, workbook, NEBOSH examination fees, plus lunch and refreshments.
